David Thompson:
“Owner Of David Magazine”
How would you describe the former David Magazine vs. the current David Magazine?
Since taking over David Magazine in July of this past year, we have made great changes to the overall book to increase its quality and feel. Bringing more writers on board, changes in how we operate and do business, and having more charitable involvement has been a large part of this transition. David Magazine has been around for 13 years, and has always been a stable business in the Atlanta community, and the “NEW” David magazine is looking to expand upon the enormous platform we already have been given.
Where are you from and what is your background?
What is in the near future for David Magazine and Southern Voice?
want. In our near future we look to branch out into new neighborhoods, be a leader in celebrity interviews, continue to tirelessly raise money for local charities, expand our web reach to a more national level and
continue to improve upon our successes. David Magazine’s roots go back to the 1960′s and we have a huge history and footprint in the LGBT community. As a whole, we really are one of the best LGBT publications out there today. Southern Voice is coming back in 2012, we are in pre-production for the historical newspaper with some modern changes to the format.
What are David Magazine’s future plans on becoming an intricate entity with the Atlanta LGBT community?
As mentioned above, we have been in the Atlanta LGBT community for over 13 years. We are already an intricate part of this community, with no plans of leaving. Just a focus of growing bigger, and giving back more.
